Default rear axle/bearing help

Ok, I've searched 14 different HD forums out there and can not find the information I need on part numbers,I thought for sure someone would have posted something on the subject. This past weekend I had a rear axle/wheel bearing let loose on me at 70 mph and it started a chain reaction ugly *** wobble that I was lucky enough to keep under control long enough to get to the side of the road. My buddy just about had a coronary just watching the show and went through half a pack of smokes in the next 10 minutes, but it was what it was. I do not like the local HD stealerships because the parts departments just are not helpful. I need to know if anyone has timken part numbers for the oil seals, bearings, and races for a 98RK. Any help is greatly appreciated very much...

You might want to start with zanottimotor.com. They help with original part numbers and their prices on stock parts are excellent. Their web site has both a phone number and an internet page to ask for info.
Just curious, in retrospect, did you have any inkling that the rear was going to go: noise, small vibration? Sounds like a terrible experience. Glad you came through.
Good luck with locating parts and repairs.

Actually I had been feeling a very slight bobble/wobble if you will the last few days when I was out riding everytime I shifted and was not sure where it was coming from, but because I was invested in a five day motorcycle class at the time I really did not have time to start digging into the issue. I guess I found out the hard way what had been causing he problem. It's funny in retrospect as the wobble started happening at 70 mph all I could think of was very carefully to slow down by gently rolling off the throttle and slowly applying a little brake, then I was at 60 mph and it came back, and I kept repeating that routine at 10 mph intervals until I was at 20 mph and then it really got violent on me. Well guess what happened the minute I pulled the clutch in? It all went away and then the light bulb came on, I pulled over, took off the left hardbag and saw the oil seal completely torn up and grease spattered everywhere. No big deal, trailered her home and am now tearing it down again... live and learn....thanks for thr replies, I will make calls tomorrow...

Here's something to look at-not sure if it'll help or not, but it does list some oem part numbers:

I put a new wheel on the back of mine this winter. I had it made as a 2000 up style wheel with sealed bearings-I've got a 98 FLHRCI. If you ever need spacer sizes for this project let me know and I can tell you what I ended up using.

Can't help you with partnumbers, but I'm glad
you made it in one piece to the side of the road.
