INNER FAIRING
Guys I would like to paint my INNER FAIRING to match my paint does HD have it already painted and you order or do you dis-assemble it and then have it painted..

I took mine apart and the inner is at the painters right now. Supposed to get it back next weekend and then I'll start cleaning up this mess... : )

HD Has em...but you better bring your own Vaseline for what they want for it! Do your self a favor....buy an extra inner fairing AND SWITCH CAP on e-bay or some such.....have it painted at your local body shop. THEN....you only have a few hours of down time and you can swap out everything without forgetting where stuff goes. THEN...when your done...sell your original to recoup the cost of the spare you bought. This is what my father and my brother did and it works like a charm. We only had about 3-4 hours doing my fathers swap out....WITHOUT the USE OF A MANUAL! Its not a big deal if you have patience and mechanical ability....and did I mention PATIENCE. Be careful, take your time, and think things out....and be PATIENT. Spares can be had for about 100-150 on e-bay all the time.

I took mine off and painted it myself. My bike is black so I bought 6 cans of Krylon fusion gloss black and painted it. Turned out great and came to a grand total of around $20.

Took mine off a month back and contacted Steve at the West Coast store for Color-rite. He fixed me up with everything I needed for a do it yourself job, turned out great. Super guy to deal with, got primer, flex spray, base coat, 2nd coat and clear coat. They will help you with any information or any way they can so you get a great job, my paint matched my Harley perfect.
