Default Front Suspension Question

I recently purchased a 2003 Electra Glide Ultra. It is my first HD touring bike and I love it!

Unfortunately, just about every time I hit a medium sized pot-hole or bump in the road, the front of the bike bottoms out. I have been diligent with checking the air pressure for the rear suspension, but would love to hear some suggestions on how to detect, correct or improve the suspension in the front.

Thanks,
Smooth

The price for X Factor FL Cartridge: $1,149.99 + actual shipping.
Professional installation is $150.00 + actual shipping.
If you supply chrome lowers the installation for the lowers are free.
Replacing your Slide Bushings, Guide Bushings and Oil Seals are recommended for an additional $72.

there is many options available. These cartridge system is the best you are going to get out of 1948 100 lb traditional forks. [ul][*]They are adjustable and do work well.[*]Will they ever ride as well as a inverted fork, hell no![*]Are they much better than the stock fork you have on your bike presently, hell yes they are by a long shot.[*]Are they better than a Race Tech system, again by a long shot.[*]Is Race Tech springs and emulators better than Progressively wound springs? By a long shot.[*]Will your stock bike roll down the road and will it get you there, yes.[/ul]The question is how much comfort do you require and what you are willing to spend. Every upgrade is worth the money your riding ability can discern. It is up to you to either learn about your options or live with stock.

A person who rides very little does not need this option and should not invest in what they can not or will not use. This of course is my own opinion and experience. I personally do not see the value in a beautiful paint job or chrome covers. That is just me and everyone has their own values.

When reviewing my post I must add, this is not directed at anyone or anyone's bike. I like a good looking bike but I wear them out so they do not stay that way for long.

Thanks for all of the replies.

It looks like the consensus is for me tostart with the fork oil. I did not notice any seepage, but then again,Ihave not checked the level since I bought the bike. I did buy aService Manual, so hopefully it will guide me on how the check and/or replace the oil.

FastHarley - I may be calling you if I have need some tech support! Thanks for the offer!

For a relatively inexpensive upgrade Race tech gold emulators and new springs made a huge difference for me on my street glide...well worth it.....I also did the chrome at the same time...
