Default Just installed my new Pro Pipe BP

The UPS truck came in this morning and dropped off my new Vance and Hines Pro Pipe. I used a vacation day to get off work so I could install the thing. It took me several hours to get it all done. I think it took me longer to get the stock pipe off than it did to put the new one on. I also installed the Screamin Eagle air cleaner and the Vance and Hines Fuel Pak. I fired it up and it sounds OUTSTANDING. It is definitely loud. I was actually taken aback by how loud it is. Please don't bash me........I've never ridden a Harley with aftermarket pipes so it was a new experience for me. I know this sounds like a silly question, but do I need to worry about hearing damage over time? Am I just being paranoid? The 2 into 1 looks even better in person than it did in the pictures. It looks, sounds, and rides great.

I've got about 2300 miles on mine so far and like mine. At times they are a bit loud. If there isn't much of a load on the engine and you're just cruising, it sounds very mellow. When you get on it though, folks will know you're around. They feel like I've got more power, but I can't prove it. A big benefit is the reconfiguration of the pipes. They are dropped down and away from the right leg so you don't feel as much heat as before. There's now no pipe on the left side so "0" heat!!! A bonus there is that I have saddle guard bag and I can keep a water bottle cool in it now.

Give them a chance. They'll grow on you.

P.S.,
Yes, you'll be degrading your hearing. Many folks use ear plugs.

You always need to worry about hearing damage on a bike. Just the wind buffeting will damage your hearing. Mine is pretty bad already from shooting andworking in printing and mining. If you're worried about your hearing wear ear plugs no matter what you ride or what pipes you have.
