Chuck, you won't be sorry you got the J&S. I have had mine for about 2 years and use it all the time. My Road King sits on it solid as a rock. Very easy to slide it under the bike, put the back runner inside the rear frame channel and jack away.
My yellow jack picks up my 2004 Ultra just fine......
I don't know about a 'sweet spot', but if the front wheel comes
off the ground first, just move the jack back an inch or so and
try again.
I used to have a Sears RED jack, but it would not fit under my softail
without putting the bikes front wheel on a 2 X 4 first.
It would have worked well with my Glide.
(jacks can be tricky I guess)
That's the problem. I had the yellow jacks as far back as possible. There is a crossmember further back that the yellow jacks would not fit into - at least on an 07 Ultra.
I have hadthe red jack for yearsand it works great, I purchased a yellow one a couple of months ago, I took it back after trying it twice.
That old red jack is rock steady and the yellow one is a wobbling piece of junk compared to it.
