I have the standard road king tour pack on my bike. Does anyone know if i can put the seat back from an ultra etc. on my bike. My son likes the wrap around feel of the tour bike rear seat back. Mine is of course just the padded back. He says he would feel better if there was something on the left and right of him.
The regular King TP backrests won't fit the RK tour pak; the King's backrests are much wider than the RK tour pak and use every bit of that width to mount to the King TP lid.
You might find that the Mutazu aftermarket tour pak with its wrap around backrest would work for your son--it is as wide as an HD King TP and structurally similar to your RK tour pak for about 200-250 bucks:
