the allen shop has always been high. american eagle hd in corinth and hdnt in carrollton are sister stores. the guys in corinth were throwing around some good numbers to a few people yesterday during their "party". tell danny at hdnt that you prefer the carrollton store and you want some of those good "saturday special #'s". he will work his *** off for you.

If you can stand to wait until the 09's are on the floor you'll be able to work a real good deal. DO NOT pay over MSRP. THere's always another dealer not very far away that'll work with you.

It pays to do a little leg work. I just picked up a new 08 SG, and my dealer waived the 'Dealer Prep' and shipping fees. They were actually the closest one to me as well (I live in Maine). Two other dealers, a little farther south, closer to populated areas (read more customer base) and they were $900 and $1100 MORE for the same bike. Doesn't hurt to ask, you may get some accessories or a service. A buddy bought a RG same day, bought a TON of HD accessories, and our dealer gave him his first 1000 mile service at N/C. Every dealer is different.

20,895 is what the bike should cost with shipping, ABS, security, Wheel option and everything that is listed as an option on the invoice. 23,000 is outlandish and there are lots of dealers out there that will give you a better price. Travel a little, save a lot.

Thanks guys. I live in Mckinney, Texas and went to the Harley dealer in Allen. The bike I looked at had the security system, luggage rack and backrest and I was quoted $23600.I haven't been to Wichita Falls. I'll look them up and give them a call. Thanks!
Take a quick ride up 75 to Sherman. They sell for MSRP too. Most of the shops in DFW will "eventually" sell for MSRP, but it's just not worth the hassel. Visit the folks in Sherman.

As was mentioned, Red River (actually in Iowa Park, just west of Whichita Falls) also sells for MSRP.

Thanks to all. I appreciate your help. You've given me a couple of dealers to look at and a lot of good information. Feel free to keep the advice coming. I wil certainly let you know where I end up buying and what kind of deal I get.

That is VERY HIGH! I would shop around as stated. I would not pay more than MSRP [sm=nono.gif]

Dude, with the way the economy is and the overall health of the MoCo, they should be BEGGING you to pay ANYTHING! Hold out for the price you want. There are dealers that will work with you.

Even back in '04 when the stealership here in Vegas wouldn't work the numbers the way I wanted and couldn't get me the bike I wanted I drove to Scottsdale, AZ and got the deal I wanted from them.

Some dealers will do a ride-n-fly as well...just to sell some inventory and make a customer happy!

Picked up an "08 RK standard, Red SunGlo two tone, no fees, plus they threw in installation of all accessories I purchased, gave me my first $1000 in accessories and 15% off anything else I bought. I got the bike, over $2K in accessories and with tax, title, plates and all, under $20K, no sweat. Now I don't have ABS or security, but I thought I did ok, $2,300 less than the two other dealers I was working with. Of course, This is in Wisconsin, but there have got to be other deals out there, the MOCO is still laying off.
