HELP!!!!! I just finished my 5000 service and when I went to start the bike, I heard a click and then nothing. NO POWER at all.
It ran fine yesterday and all I did today was change the tranny oil.
I also put the run-turn signal kit on yesterday.
Did I blow a fuse?? and which one?? I have a service manual.
Help please, I am supposed to leave on a week long trip tomorrow morning.
Thanks
Jim
Check your fuses, put the tender on the battery, did you wash the bike? If so get the leaf blower and blow directly on the controls. Just aother thought, do you have the FOB in your pocket?
Had similar thing happen, battery was dead, not all the way just enough to impact starter, push started it, PIA because it weighs so much, once it bumped rode to dealer , they fixed the charging problem, then I charged the battery no problems since, they should have checked this during the service.
Do yourself a favor and just take a screw driver and double check the battery. Trust me this same thing just happened to me and the battery was just a hair loose. I couldn't belive that just that loose was a problem.
I had a friend that had this same problem on an 07 Ultra. Sometimes it would start, other times it would click. Turned out he had a loose ground at a stud and boltthat is located directly under the starter. His would cycle the pump, but click as you desribe click when he hit his start button.
Before we found this, he was able to push start it. It would be fine for a while and start, and then just do what I explained "Click" Nothing. This ground lug is not easy to see or get to. But we were able to get it tightened up without removing the starter. You might want to check and see if your is loose at this ground point.
OK guys, I got it and I hesitate to say that it was the battery connection. Just a hair loose as one said. took them off and cleaned them and fired right up. MAN, I feel like a dumb $hit.
Even my wife asked if it could be the batt connections.
Thanks
For all the quick responses.
