Seen this a lot over the years. My bet is the battery is discharged too far or a ground is loose, either starter or battery. Check the battery to determine if it's up to charge, check and CLEAN all connections. It should be that simple is my bet.
We men like to over think things sometimes..... And it is the simple stuff we overlook first. Enjoy your trip!

Even my wife asked if it could be the batt connections.
