You did not mention what year Ultra you are thinking of buying. Going from a 2001 RK to a 2008 Ultra would be a huge difference. 08 Ultra also would have the 96 motor ,6 speed tranny,TBW,6 gallon tank, IDS, Adjustable vents on the lowers and fairing. The Ultra would give you a 2 year unlimited milage warranty as well. You wouldn't have to try get warranty work from several companies of add on parts. The Ultra is the way to go if you are going to do some serious riding with the passenger being comfortable as well.Just my .02!
