I have a friend with a 07' RKC. It was recently pointed out to him, that his front brake rotors are on backwards. They are stampedleft and right, and sure enough they are backwards from the factory. Any idea what makes them directional? I doubt it is a big deal seeing as he has 10,000 miles on the bike with no brake issues.
I don't know exactly what makes them directional but I do know there was a TSB put out by HD to switch them from left to right to try to cut down on brake squeal. I think the TSB came out in late 06 or early 07.

rotors are directional by design, some are meant to go one way to look right matched with a wheel, but some, like the ones with straight spokes, can go either way, you cant tell by looking, except it'll have a notch for the speedometer (left foot side) but it can still be used on the right foot side.

My front brake squeal on my 06 Ultra Classic drove me nuts until I found out about the TSB to swap the rotors left to right and align the holes. It worked like a charm and all brake squeal went away. I'm guessing thats why your friends brake rotors are swapped.
