You crankcase oil level is supposed to be checked while sitting on the jiffy ( hate that word ) stand. Transmission, I just sit on the bike holding it upright and pull the stick to check. Primary, I dont check in between changes.

I've found that a piece of 2x6 plus a piece of 1x6 (on top of each other) under the side stand will bring my Ultra up almost perfectly level.

I have a piece of 4x6 that I use as a car wheel chock. I hold the RG up straight and then slide in under frame with my foot. That gets me upright enough to put 38 oz of oil in chain case. I check every 2000 miles by changing the oil with new oil. It's only a bit over a quart. Why not change if you are going to all the trouble to check it. I find some shavings on magnet every time, so I think it may help to keep the clutch cleaner.
