Morning all....I have moved from a Softail Deluxe to the 08 UC....Overall I love the bike, but I have found I struggle with right turns for some reason... I am 6' and 220 so, handling the bike is not an issue...I am not sure what I am doing wrong...any thoughts???
I've read articles that have said more riders have problems with right turns than left, although somewhat unknown as to why. Might be that your brake foot is to the low side on a right turn?? Might also have something to do with the blocked view you have with the fairing and lowers....makes it feel more like you are sitting in a box. If you haven't seen them yet you might want to check out the ride like a pro DVDs for more details on handling turns....they sure helped me out.
I took the Advanced Rider's Class last October and it was great. I'm taking it again at the end of May. I'd like to try to take it at least every year.
There is definitely something to this... For some reason, alot of riders report that right turns are harder than left turns. I think this is mainly at slow speeds (at least, that's how it is for me.)
It has nothing to do with taking the MSF class (that's the answer given for 99% of the questions on this website), nothing to do with the Ride Like a Pro video, etc... I think it has something to do with the human brain or something. That's my opinion anyway.
