well i thought my 08 rk was an exception-no problems with tbw. today while on a 300 mi. ride, i had my cruse control on and as usual when needing to slow up i rolled my trottle back to disengage the cruise, it didn't disengage-the throttle controll just rolled back-so i apply the brakes and the cruise shuts down, i then roll the trottle to pick up speed, it turns freely--no throttle.
didn't know what to do so i took the palm of my hand and hit the end of the throttle controll. i then gained back my throttle but it will not spring back to idle position, have to roll it back by hand, will take it to the moco this week and see whats wrong. will let you all know. i can see how this can be a hazard to someone. i had read about issues on this forum about problems. so it did not totally supprise me. thanks to all
1) Is everything stock?
2) Did you do any mods with the grips?
3) You could always press in the clutch to stop acceleration.
I have heard that there have been a significant number of riders who have tried to change their own grips and doing a bad job of it....pinching wires....is the cruise factory installed?
like i said everything stock--NO PINCHED WIRES-it has nothing to do with the electronics-it is in the grips-it seems something is partially disconnected-push in on grips works fine-let go and the grips move out about 1/16th of an inch. and it is then that the throttle sticks!!!!
