The '08 seats aren't compatible with '07 and earlier bikes. The new, larger gas tank required a different mounting system and nose shape to the seat. My '08 Road Glide seat is more comforable than any other Stock seat I have owned, but not as comfortable as the Mustang I used on my last 2 Glides. I just got a new Danny Gray Big Seat in and will give it a try as soon as it stops raining. I'll report back after a few miles

I rode a Sportster for years with a stock seat and did some nice trips with it too. The08Electra Glide seat feels great to me, doubt I'll ever change it. I never could understand guys with touring bikes complaining abouttheir seats and I was, and still do,rideon a stock Sportster seat.

I ordered a Mustang last week. The stock seat is OK, I am just not comfortable on it after about three hours, and I need an all day saddle. Have a Mustang on my Heritage and it is incredible. I am hoping for similar results.

Put me in the "aftermarket" category, as well. 8-10 hour days in the saddle were murder on the OEM seat! Others ah know love 'em - it's jest a fitment question. Fer me, the Corbin wuz the way ta go!

I spent eight hours today in the stock '08 Ultra seat. There are probably better seats out there, but stock worked just fine for me.

I came off of a 2006 BMW K1200LT touring bike, perhaps one of the most advanced bikes on the road. Sadly, their seats are notoriously bad. It's a clear example of form over function driven by engineers. Parenthetically, the foot position and lack of the ability to move around on the bike to loosen up the knees is another serious comfort issue on this bike.

After 3,000 miles on my 2008 Ultra, I can say I find the factory seat as comfortable as any I've ever tried. I can ride for hours in complete comfort. I'm 6'1" and 185 pounds.

The 08 seat on the EG is pretty good. Too bad they haven't released that many seats to fit it. I sat on a mustang seat. Didn't like it.
Making a 1200-1600 mile run on June 13-16. Already been on a lot of 3-400 mile runs with 12,000 miles on my 08 bike. It will all be done on the stock 08 seat.

How a seat feels after a full days ride will vary greatly depending on the size and weight of the rider as well as the design and setup of the seat itself. Ifyou're one of those who can easily live with a stock seat, count yourself lucky.

I recently rented an 08 Ultra Classic for a week end and put a bit over 1100 miles on it. As stock seats go, it wasn't bad at all, actually one of the better stockseats I'veexperienced, but I did have a number of "burning butt" episodes during the ride. If the bike were mine, I feel like I could live with the stock seat for a while but I'd more than likely be changing it at some point. I've had a Russell Day-Long saddle conversion on the last three bikes I've owned and cannot sing their praises loudly enough. They've not cheap by any means but they are very good. At least they have been for me!

Best of luck & Ride Safe,
Steve R.

Assuming Oscarg is talking about Electra Glide seats?
Your right Intrepid, it depends on the rider and of course his or her size would make a difference.
Also howmany miles a person wants to ride ina day and ifthere is a passenger, are other factors. I'm probablyaverage, 190, 5'10.
I would recommend Oscarg, not knowing his size or riding style, using the seat for at least afew thousand miles beforethinking aboutchanging it.
I think the 08 EG seats are the bestof all the bikes for comfort, all things considering.
