My cruise did not work at all when I picked up my bike new two years ago. Brand new bike, brand new cruise unit. My dealer techs went out of their way trying to fix it, and in the end it turned out to be one defective pin out of 30 or so in the main plug. Probably the last thing on the checklist, but the real culprit. Just my .02
I'm having some issues with my cruise control kicking off and not wanting to reset for a while. PITA!
I'm hoping it has something to do with one of the switches,or lubriction, or adjustment or vibration, and hopefully I'll be able to fix it or bypass the switch.
That said, I'm wondering how common it is for the module to go defective and how much would a replacement cruise control module cost?
Any help would be appreciated.
Have you run the cruise diagnostics and done the cable lash adjustment yet?

FINALLY! Someone with the exact same problem I had with mine. Had it to the shop 4 times before they found a pin problem in the plug. I searched this forum for 3 days looking for anyone else with a similar issue. Mine was intermittent for a while, then it quit completely.
Now I wonder if HD will finally get the word out with a service bulletin so that mechanics can start looking for this.
I know there's another guy on this forum fighting with his CC. My bet is a bad pin connection.

Actually, I took some slack out of my return cable by lengthening the adjusted just under the master cylinder on the bars, roade 100 kms today, and it worked every time.
Not completely convinced that I've fixed it, but I'm optimstic and I should know tomorrow for sure.
