Gear Driven Cam Swap Complete
Well I finally had the cam chain tensioners removed and new Andrews 26 cams installed. Had an Indy shop in Marshfield, Missouri do the work. $ 1080 with new H D lifters, Andrews 26g gear dive cams, and S&S installation kit with new torrington bearings,new gaskets, adjustable push rods and misc. parts. The shoes were definately starting to wear. One had started pitting badly. 24,500 miles on them. The new gears are louder, but only at idle speed. I have screaming eagle slip ons, and it always had the decell-popping. Not any more. It runs very good. Not real seat of the pants grunt, but I can tell the difference. The decell popping was definately gone. It surprised me, as I had the download done after the pipes and it always ran good, but always popped. I guess what they say about the gear drives improving the timing accuracy is correct. Will update as I put some miles on her, but right now I'm very happy.

One of the best things you can do to the Twin Cam. I just helped a buddy do Andrews 37Gs in his Ultra. Takes away the only real weak point in an otherwise dependable engine. That's a good price too!
