My 'Glide is wounded
This past Sunday, while riding in a group, I was rear-ended by another rider atspeed.
I managed to keep the shiny-side up, but the right saddlebag was torn off the bike by the impact, as well as destroyed the taillight, damaged the turn signal bar, rear fender, and put some scratches on the left saddlebag. The supporting components for the right saddlebag as well as the exhaust were tweaked as well.
Insurance is going to take care, but the wait is going to screw me up... The 'Glide is my transportation to and from work and everywhere else I need to go. Fortunately a buddy had a set of black bags that I can use in the interim until all the shiny painted parts come in... which could be a while.
The other rider did not fare as well, and has road rash on both arms/shoulders. He is doing well though.

First off Crashin' Sucks....
Now seeing as you were hit in the rear - The other persons insurance it at fault SOOOOO You can show the Insurance Co that the Bike was your daily transpertation then THEY would have to get you a rental at no cost to you while the bike is in the shop and till repaired!!!..

I'd rather ride mine with mismatched bags than ride a damnned rental. (which is what I'm doing right now)
Same insurance company, so they are getting pinchy, but I already have the check... we'll see if they find anything else when repairs start. All the repair parts are here EXCEPT for the painted parts.

My neighbor was clearing off (removing some trees & disturbibbing the ground) on his lot next door, when over night a little storm past through and one of the trees heleft on his property fell over on my house. We both had the same insurance company, but they calledit an "Act of God" and that made it so they could use a higher deductable off of my policy. It was his tree, from his lot and he was doing ground work. How could they run it through my insurance? Like I said "Don't get me started with insurance companies".
FYI: We both had a $1,000 deducable policy, but if they call it an "Act of God" they can use a formula where the deductable goes up to 1% of the value of the house, not the $1,000 deductablethe salesman sold me.........and I call him a salesman because they're no real agents anymore, only salesmen. That's the way it is here in Texas anyway.
I'm glad you areokay. I just had to rant there a little.
The only thing I can say at this point is this.......anytime I am in a group of riders I always make it a point to either know the guys who are immediately around me and how well they can ride......or try to ride almost tail-end/sweep.....the sweep rider usually knows what time it is.
