Default Does this look right?

I was checking out the rear brake pads and was looking at the plastic drive belt cover. Should it be rubbing on both the drive belt and the tire? It looks like the drive belt should be over about 1/2 and inch.

Check the rear wheel alignment. It shouldn't be rubbing on the tire. Stock size & brand rear tire?

Look close at your picture - look at the drive gear how the belt has shifted... This is what causing the rub... When was the last time to adjusted you drive belt - or alignment of your rear wheel???

That's kind of what I was thinking the rear tire and assemble needs to go left about 1/2 inch. I have never adjusted the drive belt or aligned the rear wheel. I had the dealer do the 10K check up but it seems like he missed a few things.
The tire is a Dunlop 402 MT90
thanks,
Mike

Seems odd that the rear could be misaligned unless someone working on it was really incompetent. There are eccentric cams keyed to the rear axle that will pretty much force the rear wheel into correct alignment with the swingarm. I suppose that if you had the wheel cocked with respect to the swingarm (one of the eccentrics not touching the boss on the swingarm), you could tighten the axle bolt and produce this effect. I'm assuming of course that the bike wasn't wrecked or laid down hard.

Dealer said it was not laid down. They put a new front and rear tires on when I bought it.

Try spinning the tire in the direction it travels when you ride it. Look at how the belt travels. My old bike rubbed too. I think it may have been the Micheln's??
