I am looking at a 2000 Road King Classic with screamin' eagle, I believethe 103ci kit.The bike has high mileage (48k), but from the exteriorlooks verywellmaintained. A couple of questions, if ayone can help:
- What is theexpected mileage before arebuild would beneeded on this engine?
-ShouldI expect atypical rebuild, or do screamin' eagle's need a lot more(i.e. all new cyclinder heads, etc.)?
- what should be theexpected gas mileage on this bike compared to with stock engine? mostly concerned with distance between fill ups
You do not need a re-build on mileage alone unless there are signs and symptoms requiring it. If it runs well, doesn't burn oil, or make funny noises in the wrong places ride it and grin!
