I'm 6'4 and had gotten the 09 tall boy seat for my 08 RKC. The seat did move me back and down in to the seat. i did not care so much for it,and returned it to HD. I did have the foam shaved back on my stock seat and like it better.
I've had an HD tallboy seat on my 08 FLHR for a year now. I'm 6'4" and if it wasn't for this seat, I'd be sitting on the gas tank. Much of that will turn your grapes to raisins! I probably will invest in a set of handlebars that come back toward the rider a little more than stock. I look at it>>that's the price you have to pay when your 6'4" and riding a generic motorcycle that was engineered for a person that's 5'9".
I put one on my 08 Ultra yesterday and so far I love it. I never ride 2 up so I cant say anything about the passenger pillion. It does not accept the backrest and I think that the catalog is a misprint where it says it will accept one now. I ordered the "new" part number and it does NOT accept a backrest. I think I may end up sending it to Mean City to add some memory foam or something this fall just to be more comfy.
Someone else mentioned it earlier...The Tallboy is just built with a weird angle to it. It makes me slide forward and it is very slick. I can't wait to change mine, I just can't find any other seats that that work better for me. I'm 6'6" and really need the extra space.
I am 6-3 and have made several changes to give me more room.
1. Road Zep seat sits taller and adds support to back of thighs. Also I can adjust the air bladders and relieve butt numbness
2. Floorboard extender moves them forward 1-2 inches. Makes a big difference with foot angle.
3. Highway pegs lets me stretch out
4. Backrest take a lot of strain off the core muscles for a tall guy.
5. EZ brake lets me apply brake w/o lifting foot.
I ride 08 Ultra...I stand 6'4" and weigh in the neighborhood of 300 lbs. The 08 Tall Boy seat is awesome. 450 mile days w/o a problem. Alas, no back rest. The 09 will accept the backrest so my dealer is trading me back when the new ones come in. I also moved the floorboards forward with the H-D relocation kit, Highway pegs and I am set to go. Of course the newer Tall Boy seats take a lot of room for your passenger, and the stock adjustments for the Tour Pack just doesn't give enough room. George Anderson, the "Doer of Things", has a relocation kit that is perfect! Now we are both comfortable. (me and the wife, not me and George)
I'm 6'6' with 37" inseam and heres what worked for me:
Accutronix FCs and CC seat custom made to sit me back 2" and down 1". No handlebar mods will be needed. I know you asked about the tallboy seat, but there are alot more options. Look at them all.
