Default Installed my IEDs

No, it's not a birth control device. I installed the inline enrichment devices on the o2 sensor wiring. A little background info. 08 Road Glide, 103 inch kit, breather, 2 1/2 inch rush pipes, remapped before the pipes, running lean and hot, popping and cracking and won't get out of its' own way under 3k rpm.

Problem solved. I rode it 40 miles in 90 degree heat in every condition from red light stop-and-go to high speed roll-ons in 5th and 6th. No popping, no cracking. I can now accelerate away from lights like a normal person (when I want to). I know that it still needs to be remapped, but at least it doesn't feel like it's going to burn down in the meen time.

Thanks to those who steered me to the IED resource.

So it runs cooler? What kind of tuner are you running? I am curious because my bike still seems hot and is alittle lean after my mods. Did you get nightrider?

To some of us, an IED is a very bad thing. Especially if you're a Hummer crew member ;-).

It seemed all right with the 103 inch kit, the intake and the harley map. When I added the rush pipes it heated up bad. With the IEDs it is noticably cooler. I don't have an IR gun, but I can tell in the saddle and by the change in performance. I went to talk to a "tuner" about Power Commander vs. Race Tuner last night, but he turned out to be an A$$hole with a capital HOLE and I have a policy against supporting people who don't know what customer service is. I think I'll ride it like it is for a couple of weeks like it is.

By "tuner" in my last post I mean a guy with a dyno. Yes, I ordered the IEDs from Nightrider and I'm very happy so far. Like I said, I may still end up with a race tuner or a power commander. On that subject, I talked to the guys at Fuelmoto. I don't really want to bypass my 02 sensors like their setup does. That's why I'm still researching.

IED= improvised explosive device. you know, those things in iraq that they use to blow up our service guys with.....

I know that it still needs to be remapped, but at least it doesn't feel like it's going to burn down in the meen time.
i thought the whole point behind those things was that you would be able to use your stock ecm/oxygen sensors and it would 'fool' it into pushing a richer mixture.....

thanks for the clairification. Yea, I thought that was the premise too with the IED's. What is there to remap if you dont have a tuner?
