JD,

For what it's worth I rented an '08 Ultra in Hawaii two weeks ago. I was surprised how much of a difference the handling was on the Ultra compared to my '07 SG. To me the SG is much easier to throw around and the riding position suites me much better. If you have time you should rent one of each for a weekend and see what bike feels better in the saddle.
I hope you pain does not keep you off the road. Good luck and keep us updated.
mmoll,

Thanks for the info, you have a great looking ride BTW!! Did you buy a sols seat? Looks awsome.

I miss the ride of my Ultra, but need a lighter and lower bike. The 08 Delux I now have just does not ride like I want. I hope the SG has the big bike feel, but is smaller as you said, and will be easier for me to get on and off of. I know I can't compair the Ultra to the SG, RG, or RK, they are all different bikes.

My good points I have determined of the SG is; lower, lighter, a fairing (I think it is the same upper fairing as the Ultra, if so like iclick stated, I could switch out the windshild), I like the hard bags, and better seats.

What I don't like about the SG is, no running lights (I again think it's the same light bar as the Ultra, and can be added). My girlfriend (ex wife, can you believe that) is short, 4' 10". I am afraid she may have problems setting with her legs hitting the bags.

Any oppinion on brands of pipes? I have purchased alot of V&H in the past. Also with new pipes, any ideas of anything other that a stage 1 upgrade? I don't mean all the add on stuff like chrome and goodie parts, just engine performance upgrades.

Thanks for your input.
jd
Thanks JD. I have a solo Corbin seat on my bike. It will also put you a little lower to the ground, but no room for you ex/gf (that's funny) You can also add a passenger seat to this set up. The fairing is the same as the Ultra, the windshield can be changed in about two minutes. (don't over-tighten the screws when you put the new one on) and as mentioned earlier you will need to add the cruise if you want that option. I have had the V&H pipes in the past, and currently have the Rinehart True Duals, I like them both. The Rineharts look good on the black bike. Go for the 103" upgrade if you are going to do a lot of two up riding, you won't be disappointed.

Default RE: Street Glide Question??????

the streetglide is still a heavy bike at 749 lbs, regardless how much lower it is than the egc i think i'd save my money. especially riding 2 up your still gonna have to hold up all that weight.
