Default Dyno

Kinda funny story.

I was going to go yesterday to get my bike dyno'd since I have gone from standard baffles in my Rineharts to performance baffles and now Big City Thunders. My 08 Street Glide now runs better than ever. But thought a tune would be good and for my own piece of mind be a good thing.

Well I have never had a dyno done and didn't even know what was involved. I called and the dealer where I bought my bike and asked him what it was. He said it was a measuring tool to find the horse power with the Sert on off. I asked do they do a tune with it? He said no and they don't really even reccommend them. I was like WTF? So I cancelled my appt. Why pay $150 to see my horsepower. I don't have a crotch rocket.

Well I got a call at 3:30 from the service manager and he wanted to know where I was and why I wasn't there getting my dyno done. I told him I had talked to the guy earlier and that he told me it wasn't a tune and I then wanted to cancel. The manager was pissed. He said that guy was really new and they did tune it as the dyno was going. He said they could figure out horsepower in minutes and the other 2 hours was the tuning with the Sert.

I was trying to get some dyno info here a couple days ago but hdforums was down. Think that new kid at the dealer is in some trouble.. I go in at 1pm today again for my dyno again. Maybe I'll get a little deal.

Your dealer does a 3 hour dyno for $150? WTF? Say it ain't so or tell us who this is, I thought mine was quoting an OK (for a dealer) price at $300.
