My eg is an 03 and the 02-05 have the cartridge in the leg, i need to lower it after installing a 21' front wheel when my shaved lower comes back from the chromer. Has anyone converted the internals to the 06 and up ?
You can install the newer kit without a problem, \\; Getting rid of the cartridge make changing fork oil alot easier but you do sacrifice a little ride quality. \\; The cartridge system rides alot nicer.
If i can do the change i was planning on using a recetech kit to lower the bike so hopefully that will give it a good ride. I'm just not sure what parts i need to change over yet.

The race tech setup with emulators is infinitely better than the stock cartridge forks. \\; I had the race tech setup in my 01 FLHT last year and it never rode so nice....Then I crashed it on the dragon.[:@] \\; I was thinking about selling that bike once I put it back together with a new front end, so I bought all new internals with progressive suspension springs...that way I could keep the race tech setup for my 05 roadglide. \\; Well, I decided I'm keeping both bikes. \\; The progressive suspension on the 01 rides better than my stock 05 setup...even without the race tech emulators. \\; This winter, or maybe even later this summer, I'll swap out the front fork internals on my roadglide. \\; I hate the way the front end behaves on this bike. \\; I think the only thing I yet need is a new set of fork caps and airlines to pressurize them with...although I only ran 5psi in my FLHT when I had it on there. \\; Maybe I can get away without any air assist.[&:]
