Just got back from a 2000 mile journey through New England. Noticed black smoke coming out of the exhaust when I get on it to pass someone. I have an 02 Eglide classic with 22000 miles on the clock. I pulled the air cleaner off today and it was dirty, but didn't look that dirty. Doesn't black smoke mean its rich, white smoke would be oil? any ideas?
 \\;+1 \\; Restricted air flow = too much fuel for the amount of air getting to the cylinders. If nothing else has changed, change/clean the filter and try it.
