I know a lot of people who pull trailers, including camping trailers, with their Harleys. I pull one on occassion too. Not a problem at all. My EG is stock and there's no problem. It will drop your mileage quite a bit when on the highway. Here's a site you may want to visit:
I don't but happen to have friends that do. They can be very handy and almost necessary for 2 up touring. Should have no problems pulling with even a stock bike. Several guys I know don't change anything on their bike( yes they run stockers) and run 20,000 miles per year. Everyone I know pulls Bushtec!
I pulled a Bushtec with my BMW R1100RSLA and absolutely loved it. I plan on getting another Bushtec hopefully this year. It was a used one and boy do I wish I'd kept it. I used to be a Snap-on Tool dealer and I used to travel to meetings with it. I came home one night with a good deal on 3 tool sets along with some other stuff, had to be close to 275 lbs of iron. Pump up the air shocks until the tires are vertical (after rolling it) and away you go. I don't have a Harley yet, but I would be shocked if it caused overheating. You can't go wrong with a Bushtec! actually, i just made a phone call to john preston, trying to buy a roadstar trailer from him, but ?
must be the middle of the night there?
i'll keep trying, got the money ready !!! i've reasearched this out till im blue in the face, bustec was the one the most'est bragged about, and that was from the owners.
