I wonder how dilegent Harley Davidson is about checking a bike for recalls and updated service bulletins when the bike is in for service? I had my 06 Ultra in for a running issue. They did fix the bike with updated injectors and reprogam customer pay $403.00 out of warranty of course. \\;After reading some posts on this site in the do it yourself or tech tip section there are all kinds of part updates on this bike. The 06 Ultra must be a re-design year. The most important replacement part was a front motor mount that fails in the first 1000 miles. \\; \\;Tell me do you all think the motor mount was checked when they worked on my bike? That part failure could be a huge saftey concern on the highway on a 4000 mile trip. \\;When i worked for Chevrolet we ran the VIN and had to perform all recalls and service bulletins at no cost to the customer. The injectors that were replace on my \\;06 \\;were a known problem on this bike. I would think Harley would have charged me \\;labor and \\;ate the parts NOT.  \\; \\;
Probably depends on the dealer and the mech that actually worked on your bike. \\; Usually they check, cause the dealer gets paid to do the recall work.
I would call and ask.
my dealer dont check anything i have my floorboard installed backwards
 \\;
my locks on my saddle bags installed backwards i have double checked there work
 \\;
and its a good thing to do the last recall for the regulater they did not know anything
 \\;
about it needless to say i am looking for a good dealer tried a couple local not any better
 \\;
oi do most of mine own work now
I don't take it in for anything \\;so I'll never know how many recalls I've missed. \\;
 \\;
And that H-D site to check is worthless, I've put my vin in the block its says bring in for what ever milage service I've got close to. \\; What is up with that?
Similar situation they wanted to charge me for 06 SG i \\;made a copy of \\;the service bulletin about the injectors called 2 stores 3rd one said no problem bring it in at no charge (warr.)
I have an 06 Ultra 17,000 miles and the recalls have been missed by my stealer. The ignition switch would not lock, they said it would be fine, locked it, it never unlocked. There was a recall for this and my bike had just been serviced. Voltage regullator--replaced--front rotors warped replaced. The injectors had to be replaced had 8 degree needed 25 degree!
Hope it is at an end, I have an 02 Hertige 15,000 mile that has never had an issue.
This sucks to hear. When I worked at the dealer, the service writer ran the VIN on everybike that came through the door. It just makes sence, why wouldn't the dealer want the recall work? We got paid from the MOCO for doing the repairs. Besides that, we all (9 techs) had a service bulletin folder in our work bays where we could check service bulletins for any bike we had on our lift. It takes less than 2 minutes to check the bulletins.

Hey Harleytuner, what dealer did you work at? I am also in NE ohio and my stealer doesn't bring up recall notices unless I bring it up. The brake squeal on my scoot is STILL there and I have got no satisfaction from the MOCO or the dealer.
I worked for Roeder's in Sandusky. It was a great place to work. To bad the owners weren't paying the bills and Harley pulled the dealership. They just closed about 2 weeks ago. They had a great reputation, especially the service department. We did allot of big build and our dealership combined with the race shop in Monroeville was a great combination. you can Google George Roeder and find some history on how the dealership started out.
