Are the harley speedometers cable driven or electronic? (specifically the 2008 Ultra Classic).
The reason I ask is that there is a device, the SpeedoHealer that will correct speedometers that do not show the correct speed, but only if they are electronic speedometers (not cable).
Thanks!

Several other devices out there that claim to be able to do the same thing. \\; Still waiting for a report on someone installing one on an '08 UC.

Harley's job? \\; WTF? \\;
"Harley" doesn't give a tinker's damn about their speedos that all read too high from the factory. \\; Everyone knows that. \\; Government regs allow a certain percentage of error, and all bike speedos come out of the factory reading too high by 4-6 mph. \\;
If you want your speedo to be accurate, it's a do-it-yourself project. \\; Your dealer will just laugh at you.
07's and 08's speedometer is run off the VSS (vehicle Speed Sensor) located "under" the starter and it goes into the transmission. It has a magnetic pick up on it that reads the electric pulses from the trans gear. When it starts to collect metal particle from normal (or abnormal) gear wear, it will definatly effect the way it reads.
FYI

From my \\;\\\\\\; own experiences, I think that goes for just about anything that goes wrong with these bikes!
