Street Glide Tri-Bar Light Upgrade?
isn't there a mod to make the current running light a brake light by just moving the pin connection?

EDIT: \\; I don't recall the color-code of the wires in the SG facia LED connector that plugs into the TP wiring harness. \\; However, the TP harness has three wires: \\; black for ground\\; red/orange stripe for brake light\\; and, blue for run light. \\; In the SG connector, leave the wire in the socket that connects to the TP connector's ground wire, and remove the other pin/wire from the SG connector to correspond with the red/orange wire in the TP connectorslot 2, IIRC.

YesMove the wire from socket 3 to 2. \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
I just tried this and all it did was cause the license plate light to turn off when I applied the brake. The tribar did not change??? I also tried moving the 1 pin to the second position. I got the same result. BTW, I have an 08 FLHX.
Anyone got a manufacturer and part number for this? \\;\\\\\\; Harley...Kury? \\;\\\\\\; Mike

I am no expert, but I would like to try and see if I can figure this out with your help. I understand what you are saying, but I do not see how to make it work without putting a jumper wire or something. In order to be able to talk more clearly about this, I have attached a copy of the electrical diagram from the service manual for reference.

There are only two wires on the tribar light connector, and both are black. The brake light is a whole seperate connector below the tribar connector. So how do you tap into the red wire from connector 3 on \\;the brake connector so that you can activate the tribar light when you apply the brakes?

Thanks for your patience! \\;

The wiring diagram you posted is irrelevant for this mod since the tri-bar LED doesn't use the wiring in the diagram on an SG.
