Nooo I just ponied up for a factory XM unit I hope I dind\\;t make a mistake. It's loading right now and my tech is saying that the reception is fading in and out. I put the ant on top of the dash instaed of under the fairing. I sure hope this wasn't a waste of money.

Had mine installed two weeks ago. It is the HD XM unit. Antenna is mounted inside the fairing. Sound is same as CD or FM. Works great.

Installed it a few day ago and ran the ant to the top of the dash. It tucks in great right by the windshield. I felt it would get better reception. I'm not sure if it's a volume issue or it just does not have that great od a signal. I do feel that it sounds weak. I'm going to have to try and switch back and fourth and see. The radio selection is awsome.

I put a $5 (that's right, $5 after rebate) add on XM receiver on my dash.&nbsp\\; I put the power adapter under the fairing and hardwired it in instead of in the cigarette lighter.&nbsp\\; I ran an output cord inside the fairing and in to the AUX input on the front of the stereo so the cord wouldn't be draped across the dash.&nbsp\\; I have the HD windshield 3 bags on top of the dash.&nbsp\\; The bags are mounted on a piece of steel. I put my XM antenna between 2 of the bags.&nbsp\\; Unless you look for it, you don't notice it.&nbsp\\; I did have it sitting on top of the radio inside the fairing, but I wasn't real happy with the reception.&nbsp\\; No issues with the music volume level.
