Default Removing Gear Shift

2008 FLHX. I have never had this much trouble getting a bolt to loosen in order to remove a shifter lever.I tapped the bolt to loosen the lock-tite but still cannot get it to budge.I suppose they used the blue lock-tite which should break with a few good hits.I must be getting weak in me old age.Any suggestion.I am putting on the Harley Goodies kit to move the floor boards out from the bike.I need to move the gear shift lever out also.I am removing the back shifter.Sure hate to take it to the steeler.

You need to slide the bolt all the way out, not just loosen it, as the shaft is grooved.

Must be the same guy that put on my heel shifter.&nbsp\\; I tried everything, including heat.&nbsp\\; Finally gave up, stopped by the dealer and told him there was no way that was coming off without ruining the bolt.&nbsp\\; He told me it would only take a second and he would have a tech pop it out for me.&nbsp\\; Well, the tech rolled it inside and about a half hour later he had it off, after they drilled the bolt out of the shifter.&nbsp\\; It was still free and they apologized, said it should have not been that way, uh duh!&nbsp\\; Must be a big guy on the line or they need to calibrate their torque wrenches.
