Drove home my new SG and wind clips my eyeballs and forehead...
i measured the stock windshield from fairing to top center and its just over 4"... is this how to measure it correctly ?? is the upgrade closest a 6" ? dont want it to high to spoil the sporty look.
 \\;
help pls...
I guess it depends on what you mean by "upgrade." Are you only talking about HD products? Clearview and Klockwerks are two companies that make replacement windshields in a variety of heights and have the "lip" at the top for deflecting the air a couple inches higher.
I'm 6' 3". \\; Just put the CLearview 6 1/2 inch with the lip on my Streetglide. \\; Working great and still with a faily small windshield. \\; I recommend it.
Had the dealer put on a 6" when I picked up the bike, still found too much wind for my liking, went to an 8" aftermarket (cheapie) shield, worked OK but easily scratched during cleanings. \\; Recently upgraded to a 9.5" Recurve from Clearview, this one is great - really keeps the wind off and still looks great in my opinion, very fine quality shield.
