I was out practicing riding the friction zone on my Street Glide today. \\; The clutch is now slipping and there is no slack at the lever. \\; I just had the bike serviced two weeks ago. There was the proper amount of lever play after the bike was serviced.  \\; Do you think my five minutes of practice fried the clutch and caused the slack to disappear or do you think the servicing tech may not have torqued the lock nut properly? \\; I will be attempting to adjust my clutch tomorrow. \\; I am looking for some opinions on what the problem may be.
I plan on adjusting it today. \\; I hope the clutch isn't fried. \\; I let the bike cool off for a few hours then took it for another small ride, but it is still slipping. \\; I don't think the engineers would have built such a fragile clutch.
I have done quite a bit of course riding and I am very hard on a clutch all the time the stock clutch is fine as longas you keep it adjusted I use a s.e. spring with a vp92 plate for my build an as you can see in my sig. it will hold under most riding.
Thanks for the info. \\; I will adjust it in a few hours. \\; I am a soldier on temporary duty, away from my home station, right now, so I have to wait for the Auto Craft shop to open. \\; They have a lift and all the necessary tools for a relatively cheap rental price.
Well damn..just do it in the parking lot.. \\; all ya need is a torx bit...an allen wrench...and 3 wrenches...  \\; 1/2 &\\; a 9/16 for the cable adjuster..and an 11/16 for the Clutch adjuster... \\; get 2 chunks of 2x4 for the jiffy stand so it will sit upright... and ya get do it in 5 mins...
I thought about doing just what you suggested. \\; However, I am missing the big wrench to adjust the lock nut. \\; Looks like I will be waiting
'til 11:30am CT to get this project underway.
