I'm looking for a touring bag to fit on my Ultra. My trunk has the rack on it. Figured I could us it when riding two up or use it for my camping gear when I go solo.
Any recommendations to get and warnings to stay away from.
Harley has a nice one for $200. stackable, even has a day bag. they are waterproof and the day bag even has a liner that can convert it to a cooler. works great and is easily removable. I use the crap out of mine and have had no problems with it. I believe T-Bags also makes a similar one.
I just bought the SAC Rack Bag for $99 to use on my 2008 Ultra Classic with tour pack and rack. \\; \\; Perfect size. \\; \\; I seriously considered the T-Bag Dakota, as I have other products from them that are very high quality. \\; However, some riders had indicated the Dakota was somewhat larger than they needed and could block rear views? \\; Other bags with hard sides in some cases lose way too much interior space \\;with these walls although the walls could be removed. \\; \\; But then, why pay for them to begin with. \\; \\; I just wanted a large trunk bag to carry wet-weather gear, extra jacket for the wife, some shoes, etc. \\; \\; And, the SAC product (private labeler for Harley) was the least expensive. \\; \\; \\; Good luck. \\; \\; You have many great alternatives.
Take a look at the Nelson Rigg GWR 1000. About the same size as the T-Bag Dekker Supreme for about 1/2 the cost. Comes with nice waterproof slip on cover.
\\; \\; \\; I've been lookin at bags too. For now I use this ole bag I got from Marlboro as a promotion, one nice thing it has is small zippered pouches on each side. We use them for soft coolers to carry water bottles when it really hot. I think I saw a T bag with this feature.
