So, I've had the bike a week, and have put around 400 miles on it. \\; I never really paid attention to the mileage until today. \\; I filled the bike up over the weekend, and have been doing riding, - both in-city and highway. \\; Mainly country backroads and such.
 \\;
So, I'm out today with Stripperella, and my fuel light comes on, because my gauge is reading right on the "E". \\; I look on my trip meter, and see that I'm at 140 miles. \\; Hmm. \\; Bit thirsty, but what do I know? \\; Anyways, I go to fill up, and the most I can squeeze into the tank is 13 litres. \\; That's just around 3 gallons, right? \\; The tank's a 5.0, isn't it? \\; I should see at around 20 litres, shouldn't I?
 \\;
Is the problem the gauge is just wonky? \\; Any feedback?
 \\;
Thanks.

You more than likely have a problem with the gauge. \\;Just keep an eye on it with that in mind. \\; Set your trip meter \\;to zero at each fillup and when you hit 180 get fuel. \\;But, on the bright side it runs. \\; I have not ridden 400 miles in the last 3 months due to various electrical problems, won't even mention the amount of money \\;I has cost me, but I figure it to be about $7.50US per mile.
I just filled up this morning, and put in 14.857 litres (I have the receipt in front of me). I had 260 km on the odometer, and the fuel light was not on.
 \\;
For the metrically challenged, that's 3.27 Imp. gallons\\; 3.92 US gallons\\; and 161.6 miles
I have almost 20K on my 07 Ultra... I've had the same thing happen... it would turn on anywhere between 130 miles, and 165..... totally depending on how hard you are on her. If you run her over 3000 on the tach, on a regular basis, expect poor gas mileage
5 gallons and you s/b able to get around 45 per gallon depending on your driving habits, etc. maybe 35 if ridden hard and up to 50 if you are pathetic.
 \\;
so 200 to 220 would be normal and 175 on the low end
 \\;
my gps has a feature that tracks miles and says "you need gas" - i have it set at 145 miles - and it comes on right around the same time as the fuel light comes on. \\; if i get gas right away - then i \\;can put in \\;just slightly more than 3 gallons. \\; if have put in 4.3 or so on occassion, after i rode for awhile when the light came on, usually i ride a bit and look for a station - depends where i am and how far away the next station is.
 \\;
also - i leave it on the jiffy stand so i am thinking if i was to stand it straight i migh get in an a little xtra, but in the end it would pretty much be the same mileage.
Maybe I missed something but my 08 UG has a 6 gal tank. Usually get 220 -250 per tank. fuel light comes on after about 200 miles. Shows a range of about 45 miles and if I fuel up then it usually takes 4.9-5.2 gal give or take. (I have put in 5.95 gal before )Range is usuall indicated at 220 till I start riding then goes up to 250 ish. I have a 110" and usually don't baby it. Just my $.02
My light comes on whenever it wants to, sometimes at 160, sometimes 180, sometimes not at all. \\; I go by my tripmeter and fill between 150- 180 depending on where I know where the next fuel stop is.
2007 UC, 11500 miles.
