Dunlop, Metz, and Avon, users please pay attention to the subject line and resist the urge to tell us what we already know about how great your personal experience is with Duns, Metzs, and Avons. Yea I'm in fantasy land, but still hoping for real feedback on the actual subject of this post: Michelin Motorcycle \\;tires.
Please, does anyone have practical experience with Michelin Tires for \\;touringmodels, (specifically handleing and wear).
I have had a set for 6000 miles, and they are the best so far, I have had all the ones you mention as well as Continentals.
The only thing negative is that they follow road grooves somewhat, better than the dunlops, but not as good as Metz or Avons.
The traction and treadwear are second to none.
I just got mine, only about 300 miles, mine don't pick grooves at all, and are \\; superb to the dunlops in all ways. \\; Time will tell the story.  \\; \\;
I got about 9K on mine and they look better than the Dunlops did at this mileage. \\; I live in East Tennessee and I can tell ya they handle the twisties WAY better. \\; I will get another set when these wear out. \\;
I have been reseaching them for a year.

9 out of 10 riders give the Commanders a positive rating. \\;\\\\\\;

My scoot actually went in the shop today to replace the stock Dunlop 402's with Michelins.

Like everything else on a HD, really looking forward to the change from OEM.

Bookmarked this thread for future reference - will report back my first impressions next week.

Have read that 40 / 40 psi gives the best results.

I could diddo his comments, but I haven't experienced metz or avons yet [tried all the others though]....Still, I'm so happy with Michelin Commanders I don't plan to try any more tire brands.
Reading comments about the Michelin commanders on this forum is why I decided to try a set. I haven't had them long enough to give you a wear review, but handling is greatly improved. These tires stick to the road much better than the stock Dunlaps.
 \\;
If they only last half as long as the Dunlaps, I think I would still use them again just for the way I love the grip on the road.
