Has anybody used an iPhone instead of a iPod for music on there bike?
 \\;\\\\\\;
I have a 30g iPod with video and 80g Classic and of course they are not good to use because of the hard drive, but the largest capacity nano is only 8g. \\;\\\\\\; The iPhone you can get in 16g so I can have more music with me.

Thanks

The new iPhone seems like a good choice, since it has GPS functions and maps that could come in handy. \\; I hope others have something to add to the topic.
My Road Glide has about 7000 miles on it and my 80 gig ipod classic has about 5000. \\; I use the aux cable and plug into the stock stereo unit. \\; The only problem that I have is that it doesn't charge it. \\; Of course, I've got the lighter socket for that, but I like the setup in the car that charges it while it plays. \\; It may be hard on the ipod hard drive but in my experience, they're pretty tough little machines.

Just an extra bit of info...my LG VX8600 phone works great with the plug in, phone only has 2G \\; memory max, it will handle hundreds of MP3 songs, kind of hard to change songs \\;though while riding, I just turn it on and let play while riding.
I have used both the 8GB Nano and now my 8GB iPhone. It can carry 1600 songs, enough for a short ride
 \\;
I use a iPhone mount by RAM. It works great.
 \\;
One \\;caveat, if you use the first generation iPhone, you need a special cable as the jack is recessed on the phone.

Is that going to be the case with the new 3G model?
