Finally took the time&nbsp\\;to&nbsp\\;lower both shifters on mine, as low as possible, much better.&nbsp\\; With the toe/heel much lower, it's easier to find and your heel doesn't hang up.&nbsp\\;

toe shifter only here.I agree its good idea to cary heel piece as spare.Ive shifter for 200 miles using the lever without the peg.Also I intalled a electric shifter on my rkc the ultimate lazy mans shifter and makes long trips even more laid back

The bags are only so big.&nbsp\\; Can't carry everything for that rainy day.&nbsp\\; The heel shifter is somewhere in the shop.

In all my years never heard of that happening.For me it has always been part of the maintainance ritual.Checking for loose hardware,although most everything now has Locktite applied.The heel shift lever is always one of the first things I take off my baggers.I like having the room to move my foot around.

My 2 cents . Got on my 08 EL&nbsp\\; and my heal of my boot got caught in the heal shifter and I almost dumped it in the parking lot , took it off right then and there....

I've heel toe shifted for as long as I've been riding it seems... Wouldn't have it any other way. I too have had the front shifter fall off on the way back from Vegas Bike Fest one year... It went bouncing down I-15... Glad I had the heel shifter then!

Couldn't stand the heel shifter so took it off as soon as I got the bike home from the dealer. I can't imagine why the toe shifter would strip if it's tightened down properly but stuff happens, I guess.
