Default RE: rear brake squeal

Thanks for info folks, the dealer did bevel the leading edge of the pads and it was good for the first day....I have ordered the Lyndall Z plus pads today and will let you know if they work.
As for the bike leaning to the left I'm taking to dealer to get alignment checked..thanks for the advice

Default RE: rear brake squeal

I too have had a rear brake squeal on my "08 EG since day one.&nbsp\\; I complained to the dealer and to the MOCO directly.&nbsp\\; The dealer scruffed the pads (it didn't work) and told me to adjust my braking methods.&nbsp\\; The MOCO told me they had other complaints and were looking into a fix.&nbsp\\; I won't hold my breath for a fix.

Default 04 Deuce with Brake Squeal

I have about 4500 miles on my 04 Deuce, and I started getting the brake squeal, front and back, at around 3000 miles. Not sure what to do about it, maybe I'll look into replacing the brake pads with aftermarket pads.

I put Lyndall Gold pads on the rear of my Dyna. After a couple thousand mile they are starting to squeal. Stop good. Little brake dust.
But annoying.
Gonna have second thoughts about what goes on the front.

There's a service bulletin out which addresses this problem and was posted on this forum earlier.

Service Bulletin M-1228 dated July 31, 2008, applys to 2008 and 2009 Touring models including CVO models manufactured before July 7, 2008. This involves the "application of Anti-Noise kit #42551-08."

This is "designed to address Rider complaints of high frequency Rear Brake squeal under light load and low speed braking."

A copy of the Service Bulletin was posted by DAWG shortly after it came out. Gotta love that guy.

Hope this helps.

I have found most pad squeels it actually the back pad.I gut some moly paste and put a light coat on them and heated it in with a small propane torch and it never made any more, ever.Be sure to to the metal backing and not the pad its self.
