I'm getting ready to take my 08 street glide in for it's 1000 mi check and am having a stage 1 done. to it while it's in the shop. \\;I wanted to add some new slipons to add a better tone without going too loud. The dealer suggests Rush slipons 1 3/4 for a deeper tone and adding a little louder sound. Does anyone have comments on these?
Got the Rush 2.25's. \\; At first I thought they were to loud. \\; Now that I've gotton used to them, just right. \\; No quality issues. \\; Good slipons for the money.

+1 Rush 2.25". \\; I thought the 2.25" were actually kind of quiet, but I'm not behind the RK, I'm on it. \\; Have had nothing but compliments on the sound. \\; I like the fact you can be relatively quiet if you are off throttle, but can make some noise with a lot of throttle. \\; The 1.75" is supposed to be somewhat a stock replacement, they have a 1.5" for those who want to go quieter still. \\; The 2" and 2.25" get a little louder and deeper tone, makes sense to me, just listen to some drag pipe bikes running 1.75" and 2". \\; The 2" is much deeper, less raspy. \\; There is also a 2.5", but when talking to the guys at Rush, they recommend 110" or bigger engine for these.
I have the 08 Ultra-Classic (105th Anniversary), I have been wanting to replace the stock mufflers with the RUSH Slip-ons in order to change the sound of the bike. \\;I have been told a number of different things (from different sources) about replacing the stock mufflers with any \\;after market slip-ons.
 \\;
1.) If I replace the the stock slip-ons, I will be required \\;to add the Stage \\;1 A/C and have the \\;ECM remapped in order for the bike to run at factory specs and prevent overheating issues.
 \\;
2.) If I replace the stock slip-ons, ensure the exhaust diameter is the same as the stock exhaust. If I increase the exhaust exit diameter, I would be required to add the Stage \\;1 \\;A/C and have the ECM remapped in order for the bike to run at factory specs and prevent overheating issues.
 \\;
3.) If I replace the \\;stock slip-ons with anything other than the Screamin Eagle exhaust, I would be required to add the Stage 1 A/C and have the \\;ECM reampped in order for the bike to run at factory specs and prevent overheating issues.
 \\;
I contacted Harley's customer service at the factory, they said I could \\;replace the stock \\;slip-ons with the Screamin Eagle slip-ons with out changing anything else. The bike would run within factory specs.
 \\;
At this point, I'm not sure \\;which after market exhaust to purchase. Let me know how the bike sounds and runs after the changes.
 \\;
Thanks \\; \\; \\;
Call Jamie at FuelMoto. Best deal in town. For a complete Stage one Kit. Pipes(Rush or his jackpots), Air cleaner, and PCIII. http://www.fuelmotousa.com/
I have the 2" and I'm happy with them. You may even want the 2.25" as the 2" are not that lound at all. \\; I leave at 6am and don't wake the wife, kids or neighbors...
I like the Rush mufflers. \\; I started with the 2.25 on my 06 and thought they were perfect. \\; Added them to my 89 and they seemed to quite for it, may have something to with the anti-reversion cones, so I went up to 2.5 on it, which made it right in IMHO.
 \\;
I changed the 06 to the 1.75 when I was dealing with \\;decel pop after adding the thundermax auto tune and thought they were a little too mild, but after I added the Andrew 26G cams, I think they are all good again and I have zero decel pop.
Go with Jamie at FuelMoto. \\; If I didn't have such a great deal on the SE (pre-EPA) slips, I would have pulled the trigger on a the FuelMoto package. \\; I have followed my buddy with his 2.25 Rush pipes and it is fine. \\; Get up next to him and you can hardly hear them. \\; He said the same thing about my SE slips. \\; Anything is better than stock and with the EPA on the back of Harley, you will never see anything louder from the factory than what is produced today. \\;
 \\;
EddyPear, I went through the same thing with my 07 EGC. \\; As harley said, you are not required to do ECM or anything. \\; Some on this site, even say to keep the stock Air Cleaner because you get more power when you change the pipes out. \\; I did it all, SE slips, SE/AC, and SERT (with dyno) and I love my "bagger". \\; I have no problems getting into, out of, or around traffic. \\; Hope this helps. \\; Later Gator, Remi
