\\; I bought 1.5 baffles and installed instead of the 2.25 they had in them, ran it for about 1k had to much cackle noy very deep and popped on decel I also have dual conversion(B&\\;E),went back to the 2.25 nice deep tone ran about the same power wise on the edge for being loud. just me
I have 2" baffles on a FLHR and a Stage I. \\; I get lots of compliments from folks I ride with. \\; "Throaty" is a word I hear a lot. \\; They make some noise going through the gears or when you crack the throttle, but they quiet down at cruise. \\; I am very satisfied with Rush.
I'm getting ready to take my 08 street glide in for it's 1000 mi check and am having a stage 1 done. to it while it's in the shop. I wanted to add some new slipons to add a better tone without going too loud. The dealer suggests Rush slipons 1 3/4 for a deeper tone and adding a little louder sound. Does anyone have comments on these?
I had the 1.75's for about a year and found them to be cosmetically excellent, but a bit too loud and too raspy, moreso as time progressed and the packing settled. When Fuel Moto unveiled their custom baffles I took the bait after seeing the improvement in performance, which was about 7TQ and 4HP over the 1.75's. When I installed them I was pleasantly surpised that the loudness was diminished and the sound quality improved. Rather than the raspy tone as before, they are deep and throaty, attributable no doubt to FM's high-tech baffling material that they warrant for the life of the muffler. What was also noticeable was the increase in low-end and midrange power.
If you haven't done the Stage 1 yet, consider buying FM's Jackpot mufflers (functionally and cosmetically identical to Rush) with the custom baffles included, a PCIII with custom map, and the new FM AC. IMO this is the best bang-for-the-buck Stage 1 upgrade in the business. The downside is that he only has the slash-down style at this time, but is working on a slash-up, etc.
