Default Sundowner versus Airhawk

I've seen good reports about the HD Sundowner seat, and also about the Airhawk seat cushion. I will be doing a 4000km round trip in a couple of weeks, on an 08 Roadglide, and I'd like advice from anyone who's tried both &nbsp\\;right now I have the stock seat which is quite uncomfortable for me. (I'm 6'1" and 230 lb) I tried the Tallboy, but didn't like it. I found it sat me back too far, and my butt slid around. The stock seat seems to be designed for a smaller butt than mine.

Any opinions on Airhawk versus Sundowner? I know some guys recommend Mustang, but price and delivery times put that out of contention.

Thanks!!

Mike

I have a modified Sundowner on my SG. I had some of the foam removed from the sides and center to lower and narrow the seat. I&nbsp\\;am 5' 8". I had them install a Gel pad in place of the foam. Did a trip to the Dragon last year and it was comfortable, apart from the end of the first long day. Did the same trip this year with an Airhawk on top and no problem at any time. I recommend both. If you can only do one at this time, then the Airhawk is the way to go.

Yep,&nbsp\\; The Airhawk is a winner.&nbsp\\; I've put a lot of miles on mine and it has always made for a comfortable trip.&nbsp\\; You have the advantage of taking it off for a while if your *** needs a change of scenery also, or you could change the inflation to provide more, or less support.&nbsp\\; They are pricey, but they work well.
I'm surprised that the stock seat if so uncomfortable for you.&nbsp\\; My RoadGlide seat is the only stock Harley seat I've ever had that was comfortable enough fo rme to keep on the bike.

Thanks for the info. What year RG do you have? I know the stock seat is different on the 08's versus the 07 and older models.
