helmet lock
Put your helmet on either your shifter or brake pedal, extend your strap towards frame. Mount lock in that place. Then when you stop and lock helmet it one won't be on the ground and two it it rains it won't be full of water.

Another great idea! any more? how bout some pic for those in the digital age? thx...
When I secure the helmets to the bike, I turn the bars to the left and lock the steering.
Then I put one helmet in front of the bar and the other helmet behind the bar.
Both are easy to place and are easy to handle.
With the open end of the hook facing up, one won't fall on the pavement while you are messing with the other one.

I've been riding since 1981 and have not had one stolen yet. I have 2 custom painted helmets and they have never been touched. I think you are safe on the seat and mirror or hanging it off the throttle like I do. That's 18 dollrs that you could put to more chrome.
Good luck!

part numbers or pictures please?
I have been wondering about this because my full face helmets run about 400 a shot, and with 2 of us it is a big money risk to leave them loose on the bike. The FLHTPI is the first bike I have ever owned that didn't have helmet hooks.
Besides that Massachusetts is a helmet law state and I'd hate to be 200 miles from home with no skid lid
