The bearing is not pressed in far enough, that is why the pulley is rubbing the ids drum. Even when the bearing is pressed all the way down the the distance between the pully and the drum is only the thickness of a business card, very close so you can see it would only take a very little to let them touch.

did u press the bearing in or have it pressed in by the dealer? may want them to check the depth...

Bearing failure.....kinda common and dangerous. glad you found it before rear wheel locked up. hope moco offers fix

Isn't there supposed to be a spacer on the axle to prevent that? Maybe the bearing was pressed too far in or something.
i agree. that kinda thing is usually a spacer problem. maybe they supplied the wrong one??my IDS is fine. have checked it a couple times. got 20k on it

Well all I can say is IDS is not something you need anyway. Like I have said before if you keep the rpms up over 2 k the bike is very smooth. I say remove and keep it removed.

I say keep it. A lot of IDS paranoia on here. If a person believed everything on this site, our 07's would have fallen apart by now.[:@]

Bearing bore not straight or damaged during press in, wrong depth ,&nbsp\\;worn bearing, spacer not thick enough with cause this.
