So I have a battery tender, I had my dealer do all my installs so i wouldnt have to mess with the bike. Wouldnt you know it, the battery tender now isnt charging the bike, the LED blinks amber which as I best can understand means either the wiring is wrong (it was working so this doesnt make much sense) or the terminals are sulfated (the bike isnt even 3 months old). Is it possible for a battery terminal to have sulfated that much in 2 months that the connection would be bad?
I did ride in some heavy rain the day before it stopped working, I am wondering if that somehow has caused a problem.
Any ideas, going to the dealer is royal PIA, and taking the bike apart is a possibility but I would prefer not to wrench on it given my install cost me $106/hour.
it should be a rather easy check...the seat comes off with 1 screw, then you can see the battery, and terminals \\;andsee if they are loose or corroded.
It's QUITE possible that ya have a loose or corroded connection. \\;Pull the seat an' check the connections. \\;It's best ta first remove the ground terminal, then check/work on the positive side. Once done, then reinstall an' work on the negative. This way, with the ground removed ya won't accidentally ground the positive side an' cause a problem.
Make sure you have left the tender on long enough. Usually a flashing yellow means 80% full charge. It can sometimes take overnight to turn green indicating full charge.
