I have a 1-off rear fender on my 05 Road King. Took a HD fender, cut in half, shaped and molded it, then welded to the sides of the original fender. Frenched the taillight/turn signals and license plate into fender. (There are some pics in my gallery) I want to cut off the U-bracket behind the seat. Some of the people at HD tell me that I will lose rigidty in the rear and it will start tweaking. Others tell me I shouldn't have any problems since my fender is steel, not one of the aftermarket, fiberglass fenders.
Anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I just removed mine on my 07 RKC but I used the bracket from Bruisers Inc. The bracket probably won't work on your fender but you may want to look into it.....just another option/opinion. I didn't want to cut mine just incase I decided I wanted it back on somewhere down the line.
