I thought someone told me that a kit was available with all 4 sets of the docking points. When I bought my 06 in January of 07 I purchased part #'s 53803-06 &\\; 53804-06 for the pak and the passenger backrest that I would purchase in time. It seem as if they were $41.95 &\\; $54.95 respectfully. Hope that we covered all the information that was originally requested.
I have the quick detach on my UC and it takes @ 15 minutes to take it off to re-route everything and move the antennaes. Putting it back on takes a little longer to line up all 4 docking points. On a classic or standard, I would think there would be less of an issue. BTW, since being shown how to take it off, I've never done it in a year of riding.
I'll tell ya what works best for me... I have a small seat on wheels for the garage which is about 12" off the floor. It seems if I get down closer to the tour pak it gets easire to take off... I also do the same when placeing it back on the bike... That way I can see the docking points. I do it myself and so far no paint chips.
When you remove the tour pack you can buy a luggage rack that fits right into the tour quick detachable tour pack mounts without having to buy anything but the luggage rack , it is $205.95 in the Harley Book
