Folks, what ya think about \\;http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/753753612.html

Any issues with 2001 Road Kings? What's a good price?

Thanks,

I put 47,000 miles on mine and traded for a ultra this year. Great bike, I miss it at times. Traded for 10,000, they sold it off floor for 12,000. Mark
FWIW, I bought a '01 RKC last year about this time in the same area. \\; Asking prices were (...still are) anywhere from 12,000 to 16,000 and it took some real "work" to find a good one that an owner would part with for around 10 grand cash. \\; Unless you fall in love with one and want it at "any price", you'll want to stay below $10,000 on the '01's but, of course, truly low mileage and "showroom" condition can edge that up a little. \\; This one sure does look good. \\; Good luck! \\; Mc
I would shop around before committing to this bike. \\; In 2006, I almost bought a 2001 RK for $11,500, but told the dealer I wanted a day to think it over. \\; I ended up finding a 2002 with 10,000 less miles for $10,200, and purchased that. \\; Take a look at the former HD Trader (http://www.chopperexchange.com), and see what else is for sale around you. \\; If you find this to be your best deal, negotiate that price down even further.
NADA isn't a reliable value here out west, and KBB lists this bike at $8920 trade in and $13190 retail, meaning you should be able to get $1000 off with this motivated seller. \\; The only issues I've ever discovered with this model are \\;folks with newer \\;ones who believe they have a better bike. \\; I'd go for it if I were you, especially the idea of a low-mileage used bike vs. new.
I kept my 01 RKC and use it as my daily rider. I wouldnt let it go for $11.5. KBB and NADA are a joke when it comes to motorcycle values. Does work well for Dealers on trade in as they can make a good resale profit. Only question is if your happy with the deal and does it fit your pocket book.
