I posted this in the tech section and haven't gotten any hits on it, so being the impatient guy that I am I'll post it here as well. \\;
I managed to get a set of \\;\\\\\\; hard bags for my RKC and need to change the locks to match my key. \\;\\\\\\; How do I go about this? Do it get the locks modified or buy new locks from the MoCo?
Zimbob is right. Go to your dealer with your key number and they will order them. If you do not have your key numver, the healer can chase it down for you with the VIN number. Best to go to the dealer bike was purchased from but any dealer can do it.
With the VIN number the dealer should be able to order a set for you. I had a saddlebag lock screw up and the dealer did just that. It was under warranty so I can't tell you the price. They shipped two locks and two keys. The service manager said they come in pairs
Just take your key of the key ring and slide the black plastic cover up. The key number is right there on the key. Then you can save some money and order from Zanotti's or another discount dealer. Either way (dealer or internet) it takes about 6 weeks to get the new locks.
Same thing here, swapped out the leather bags for some used hard bags. Took the locks off and my key to a locksmith, cost me like $25 bucks for a spare key and to have the locks re-keyed. Better than a 6 week wait, took em like 15 minutes.
